Biography

Itır Bakış Doğru-Yüksel (Bakış) is a postdoctoral researcher at ECTM specializing in impedance sensing for organ-on-chip systems as part of the UNLOOC project—a multidisciplinary initiative focused on advancing integrated and label-free analysis technologies in organ-on-chip platforms.

She previously held a postdoctoral position at Utrecht University, where she developed label-free optical imaging and nanoparticle trapping techniques in collaboration with Refeyn Ltd., a single-molecule mass photometry company based in Oxford.

Bakış earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science and Engineering from Koç University in Istanbul, where her research centered on silk-based biolasers. She holds an M.Sc. in Micro and Nanotechnology, having worked on carbon nanotube-based supercapacitors, and a B.Sc. in Physics (with honors) from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. Her international research experience includes visits to Sungkyunkwan University (South Korea) and the Jožef Stefan Institute (Slovenia), where she studied protein nanostructures and directional random lasers.

Outside the lab, Bakış is passionate about animal welfare—particularly cats—and enjoys drawing quirky illustrations for her niece, creating playful videos, and cooking creative meals.
