MSc Yuyang (FOX) Hu
Bioelectronics (BE), Department of Microelectronics
Expertise: Ultrasound, Medical untrasound imaging, Compuational ultrasound imaging
Biography
Yuyang (FOX) Hu was born in 1994 in Shaanxi, China. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Shenzhen University in 2015 and his master’s degree in 2019. During his master’s program, he focused on magnetoacoustic imaging, aiming to measure human tissue conductivity through the coupling of magnetic and acoustic fields. Concurrently, he contributed to projects in ultrasound super-resolution imaging and nanoparticle therapeutics, supporting the development of ultrasound acquisition, imaging, and stimulation platforms.
In 2020, FOX began his Ph.D. at Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands, where he researched 4D computational ultrasound imaging methods for carotid artery sensing in the Thoraxcenter Biomedical Engineering group of the Department of Cardiology. His work was part of the project TOUCAN funded by NWO-TTW, and focused on using a large-aperture matrix probe with a reduced number of elements and a spatial encoding mask.
FOX is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology (TUD), where he studies the integration of ultrasound transducers into neural cuffs to enable precise, steerable peripheral-nerve neuromodulation.
