PhD Imad Bellouki received a Mosaic 2.0 scholarship (NWO)

Imad Bellouki(EI) has received a Mosaic 2.0 scholarship from the Dutch Research Council (NWO). The PhD scholarship programme focuses on underrepresented groups of graduates with non-Western migration backgrounds in the Netherlands. Imad’s research aims to develop wearable, energy-efficient ultrasound devices that provide a non-invasive and cost-effective way to measure vital bodily functions, such as the cardiovascular system.

While much research has focused on developing wearable ultrasound sensors, little attention has been given to the (micro)electronics required to make them “smart.” Imad's work will explore microchip-based solutions to tackle two main challenges: reducing energy use for long battery life and minimizing data to enable wireless data transmission.ellouki
